Alec Daheim
A disciplined weapon with green eyes, an empty column, and a conscience arriving later than it should.
Enters Darnell's chapter before the file admits what it is tracking. Route bends through Chicago. Column remains empty. Help or hazard cannot be released without compromising the operation.
Who is Alec Daheim?
Alec Daheim begins as an instrument of surveillance and force. His official shape is deliberate, physical, trained, and useful to men who prefer obedience with excellent posture.
The book keeps him unstable because that is where his tension lives. Proximity can mean danger, protection, guilt, or design. Alec often occupies all four possibilities before anyone in the room is ready to name one.
Role in the novel
Alec forces the reader to ask whether a person who served the machine can outlive the damage he carried for it.
His route complicates the thriller by making loyalty expensive. He knows too much, has done too much, and still has to decide what kind of man remains after the mission stops sounding clean.
